Zotero - Plagiarism and bibliographic referencing

A poorly cited source, a paraphrase too close to the original text or the use of content without mentioning the author can be considered plagiarism, including when this results from a lack of knowledge of the rules.

But how do I know what constitutes plagiarism? How to cite your sources correctly? And how to easily manage your bibliography?

This information evening invites you to come back in a way simple and concrete on good practices of academic work at UCLouvain.

We will notably address:

• the consequences of plagiarism and the situations in which we may be confronted with it, sometimes without wanting to;
• how quote, paraphrase and integrate correctly the ideas of another author;
• what information to keep when consulting a source;
• how to organize and manage your business effectively bibliography ;
• how to use Zotero, a free tool that makes it easier to collect, organize and cite sources.

The objective is to leave with practical benchmarks and concrete tools to work more peacefully and independently, while respecting the requirements of academic work. 

No prior knowledge of Zotero is necessary.
