Louvain Coopération and Centre Placet invite you to introduce you to slam.
Slammer Ben Kamuntu will initiate you to this art form that is both literary and scenic, poetic and political, midway between oral tradition and modern poetry.
With his genuine and modest pen, and his unique vocal tone, Ben KAMUNTU investigates the multicolored sounds buried in the beauty of languages and poetry. The slammer's performances from Goma (DR Congo) give a vibrant sense to each word, to each verse, to each emotion. He is a winner of the European Prize of Congolese Literature, MAKOMI, 4th edition 2021, special distinction of the Jury; also prize winner of the "Active participation of young people for peace and democracy 2014" awarded by the Jimmy Carter Center and one of the jurors of the 2017 edition.
